The Tennis Queensland Secondary School Team Tennis Competition is a state-wide initiative inviting all Secondary Schools to play competitive tennis at a regional level and culminate at a State Final annually. Winning teams of the Open QSSTT Competition will be invited to represent Queensland at the Australian Schools Tennis Challenge.

26 March 2012 | Tennis Queensland Mark Richards (above – Concordia College) and Andjela Djokovic (QLD Academy S.M.T) have won the 2012 Queensland Secondary Schools State Championships (Pizzey Cup). The tournament (which concluded Sunday), saw over 44 boys and 44 girls from 11 different regions battle it out for an individual place in the Queensland Secondary Schools team.
Sheldon College’s Open Boys’ and Open Girls’ Tennis teams have qualified to compete in the State Finals of the Queensland Secondary Schools Team Tennis competition, having both been crowned champions of the Metropolitan East region. Our Open Boys’ team secured their place in the state finals courtesy of victories over St Laurence’s College, John Paul College and Redlands College, whilst our Open Girls’ team advanced after defeating Somerville House and Moreton Bay College.

The Tennis Queensland Primary Schools Cup (previously Brisbane International Schools Challenge) is a mixed team tennis competition open to all schools within Queensland. Every school has the opportunity to nominate teams at Regional Qualification events with the winners of each tie invited to compete at the State Final held at the Brisbane Tennis. The competition will be run in three different categories: Red Ball which involves students in Year 4 and below.
The BBC Boys Tennis Team travelled to Rockhampton to compete against 120 of the best secondary schools from around Queensland. It was a very successful trip for the BBC team who finished in 1st place and booked their place in the in the Australian Schools Tennis Challenge to be held in Albury from the 22 nd – 26 th of November, 2014.
Sheldon College is the new Champion School for girls tennis within the Metropolitan East Region, having claimed the title at this week’s Queensland Secondary Schools Team Tennis competition at Griffith University. Our team, of Lara Walker, Susie Lee, Caitlin Fraser, Arya Iyer and Aleksija Vuksan, defeated Somerville House to win the right to move on to contest the State Finals at the end of this term.
Tennis Excellence In Tennis Excellence this term we had the Queensland Secondary Schools Team Tennis Competition. The students played off in Fast 4 singles and doubles matches against schools on the Gold Coast. Very tough competition on the day however all students were happy to be out on the court representing the school as it was our only Inter-school
